HNA is embarking on a project to determine the reaction of physicians to Healthcare Reform. We believe that the media has not represented all sides of the physician point of view. We plan on doing a series of commentaries, articles, podcasts and webinars on the REAL physician perspective. If you are interested in being interviewed for this project, please contact us at 877-311-3338 or email skrueger@hna-net.com

I am very concerned about the requirement for everyone to purchase health insurance and that the enforcement of the requirement for health insurance to be via the IRS. This is another redistribution maneuver by Obama and is certainly against the grain of freedom in America as we know it. The only reaseon healthy young persons would be held hostage to pay for insurance they are probably never going to use is to provide funds for covering the illegal, unemployable and ever growing entitled masses who expect free healthcare. I say, lets force them to adopt healthy lifestyles before they can receive this benefit. Let the IRS enforce their diets, exercise programs, smoking cessation, alcohol and substance abuse treatment and whatever else is required to reduce their risk factors. Forced birth control for those who are economically and mentally incapable of raising offspring without relying on public assistance would be a great place to start. The taxpayer has had enough of bailing out banks and bums alike!

The impending 21% decrease in Medicare reimbursements and the impending malpractice insurance increases will put many of us out of business. I hope those who voted FOR are prepared to either stand in line or to pay the difference.
The healthcare reform bill is a joke, and will only put more money in the pockets of insurance companies and out of our pockets.
Who are we anyway — expendable for sure

I would suggest turning those low riembursment rate patients towards a cash service that you offer. This would be using medicare as a marketing vehicle. OR really work on the patient mix in your practice so you can kick those low paying contracts to the curb. ALWAYS be on the look out for new revenue streams.
